Society

It is the 21st century and I still remember the year 1984 as if it was not too long ago. Some frequently asked questions I get a lot is “Would you consider yourself a republican or democratic?” I cannot just answer this with one single word. I consider myself a little bit of both, I’m in between. Democratic people lay more on the government than republicans.
Now, if you know me personally, you would think I’m totally against the government because of how it was organized in 1984. I was tortured and brainwashed, and the government made me think whatever they wanted. They interrogated me in a way that isn’t human kind. They made me say that 2+2=5 and I actually believed it, even though I knew deep down inside that 2+2=4.

Anyways, if I really had to choose, I would lie more towards a republican. Why? Because I want less government interference, I want the people to be more independent. Many people think that all republicans are against gay marriage and all about religion, but that’s not like me. I only consider myself a bit republican, not fully. I also consider myself democratic because like I said I’m not against gay marriage and abortions. I do rely somewhat on the government and I do believe in people’s rights. But really, I mainly consider myself a citizen that can question the government.

  1. No matter what year, what century, I will always remain the leader. The government was organized perfectly back in the year 1984. During this time, you were captured for committing thought crime but most importantly for not being able to fully love I, big brother. This was a problem because you need to be able to love your leader in order to share the same correct ideas and opinions. So to fix this complication, members of the party did torture you. They starved you, beat you, and just plain out made you suffer. But we did not brainwash you. You took it upon yourself to finally accept the beliefs that were put before you. Maybe you were able to get rid of these beliefs but in order to prevent this torture from taking place once again I would regain belief in the ideas of the party. Most importantly I would put all hope and reliance into the government for they are who will soon become leader next to me.

  2. Winston, why did you inflict the pain and suffering upon me? I understand you were terrified at the moment but, why pass the torture to the one you supposedly "love"? I get it. You never really loved me. You loved my rebellion and the fact that I participate in fornication. You were in lust, that's not love. If the government had nothing to do with torturing you, would you pass the pain to someone else? I thought you would. I thought you felt the same way I did. I thought all your loyalty was to me. I thought we would never betray each other. I thought.........Thoughtcrime.
